7.0 Major Earthquake Hits Solomon Islands

A major 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Solomon Islands on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 15:26:39 UTC, at a depth of 27 km (16.8 mi).
These great earthquakes jolting the Santa Cruz and Solomon Islands region over the last week are also striking very close to the surface, which greatly intensifies the effect.
Twenty major (>5.9) earthquakes have hit various places over the last week! This much activity with such great magnitude within a week is astonishing and something I have never heard of before. If you scroll this blog page for posts over the last week, mostly what you see are major magnitude earthquakes; among which are four 7 and one 8 magnitude quakes.
The 8 magnitude quake that hit two days ago triggered a tsunami which demolished five villages on the Solomon Islands. Nineteen deaths were reported today, but the final count is still unknown. Many more people have lost their homes and have been displaced due to high magnitude aftershocks.
Something mighty is happening in the world right now, which reminds me of what Jesus said would take place just before He returns, "Great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, famines and pestilences and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven" Luke 21:11.
Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places" Matthew 24:7.
The Word of God says, "When they say, 'Peace and safety,' then sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they (the wicked) shall not escape" 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
Jesus also said, "Blessed are those servants whom the Master, when He comes, will find watching" Luke 12:37.
