A major 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Unimak Island region, Alaska, on October 27, 2016, at 11:53:16.6 UTC, at a depth of 10 km, reported CSEM-EMSC.
The National Tsunami Warning Center, Palmer, AK, issued a Tsunami Information Statement on October 27, 2016, at 357 AM AKDT.
692 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places worldwide over the last 1,347 days. Among these were 82 7.0+ and 6 8.0+ magnitude quakes.
