An 8.2 SUPER QUAKE hit off the coast of Chiapas, Mexico, on September 8, 2017, at 0449 UTC, at a depth of 33 km / 20 miles, reported the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Update: Tsunami Generated by 8.0 Magnitude Solomon Islands Quake Kills 6 - More Missing

At least six bodies have been recovered after the 8.0 Solomon Islands quake triggered a tsunami on Wednesday.  The tsunami smashed into villages in the Solomon Islands. 

The Pacific Ocean tsunami warning had been canceled, although 4'11" waves were too fast for five elderly and one child to outrun and they were sucked under the rushing waters.
